This means that Essendon Dental Group will resume non-urgent procedures including routine examinations, hand scale cleans (without the use of ultrasonic scalers or polishing), dentures, and restorative treatment according to the Level 2 dental restriction guidelines.
We’d like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we contact patients who have had to reschedule visits or have appointments booked in the coming weeks.
Please call 03 9337 5589 or email email@example.com if you have any queries.

Essendon Dental Group are happy to advise that following National Cabinet approval and confirmation with the Dental Board of Australia, we have now taken another step forward to Level 1 dental practice restrictions.
This means we can provide our full scope of dental services including examinations, scale and cleans, restorative procedures, endodontics, dentures, and preventative procedures to ensure that your oral health is at its best for your general health.
We remain vigilant in our high infection control standards and you will notice
– In depth prescreening conversations on the phone prior to your appointment
– Different entry and exit routines into our building
– Fewer patients in our waiting room as we stagger appointments and increase changeover time to maintain spatial distancing
– Environmental cleaning in between each patient
We will be in contact to reschedule appointments that may have been delayed, we can’t wait to see you!

Essendon Dental Group, an accredited practice, has always prioritised the safety of patients, staff and community. Our response to COVID-19 this year has closely monitored and adhered to the most up-to-date protocols and recommendations from our governing bodies including modifications to our already strict infection control procedures including:
- History screening of patients for recent travel or sickness
- Hand sanitiser for patients on entry and exit to the practice
- Increased surface disinfection frequency of high-risk surfaces in between patients
- Removal of unnecessary items in the waiting room including a reduction of seating
- Staggering dental appointments to minimise contact in the waiting room and allow for extra time for cleaning
- Asking patients to attend alone or only bring minimal additional accompanying persons
- Suggesting patients wait in their car until immediately prior to their dental appointment
- Minimising the generation of aerosols in dental procedures
Following recent measures announced by the State Government of Victoria and recommendations by the Australian Dental Association, Essendon Dental Group will be providing only urgent and emergency treatment where clinically indicated until further notice. The key focus is on reducing aerosol-generating procedures, and so dental treatment we provide may be modified during this time. Reducing patient treatment also acts as a social distancing measure to further minimise the spread of COVID-19.
We will call all patients with upcoming appointments to discuss their care and defer any non-urgent treatment.
In these uncertain times, please do not hesitate to call us on 03 9337 5589 if you have a dental problem, any concerns or require clarification that you would like to discuss with your dentist.
Take care and stay safe.
